Mpepu Nnaka Day Care uses KidKonekt, a third-party daycare management platform, to manage day-to-day administration, including child registration, attendance and pickup verification, invoicing and fee payments, parent communication, photo/media sharing, and reporting.
This page explains what that means for you as a parent or guardian.
1. What Is KidKonekt?
KidKonekt is software provided by KidKonekt (a product of BitWebDesigns) that Mpepu Nnaka Day Care uses to manage its administrative operations. When you register your child with us, log in to our parent portal, receive invoices, or get messages and notifications from us, you are interacting with the KidKonekt Platform on our behalf.
2. Who Is Responsible for Your Information?
Mpepu Nnaka Day Care is the responsible party for your and your child’s personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). We determine what information is collected and the purposes for which it is processed.
KidKonekt acts as our operator — providing the technology and storing and processing information on our behalf and under our instruction. KidKonekt does not use your information for its own independent purposes and does not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. What Information Is Collected Through KidKonekt
Through the Platform, we may collect and process:

Your child’s full name, identity/passport number, date of birth, home address, and relevant health or medical details;

Parent/guardian names, identity numbers, contact details, and relationship to the child;

Emergency contact details;

Attendance and pickup/drop-off records;

Invoicing and payment records (payments are processed securely via PayFast; we do not store your full card details);

Messages exchanged between Mpepu Nnaka Day Care and you through the Platform;

Photos and updates shared through class or school media features.
4. Why We Collect This Information
We use this information to:

Register and manage your child’s enrolment with us;

Verify identity during pickup and drop-off to help ensure your child’s safety;

Issue invoices and collect school fees and other payments;

Communicate important updates, announcements, and notices;

Share appropriate photos and updates from your child’s day with you;

Maintain accurate administrative records and meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
5. How Your Information Is Protected
Information processed through KidKonekt is stored on secure infrastructure and protected through appropriate access controls designed to limit access to authorised Mpepu Nnaka Day Care staff and other authorised users.

6. Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your or your child’s personal information, subject to applicable legal and lawful record-keeping requirements.
To exercise these rights or raise a concern regarding your personal information, please contact Mpepu Nnaka Day Care directly. As the responsible party, we will manage your request and liaise with KidKonekt where necessary.

8. Consent and Acknowledgement
By registering your child with Mpepu Nnaka Day Care, you acknowledge that your personal information and your child’s personal information may be processed through the KidKonekt Platform for the purposes described in this notice and in our full Privacy Policy.
Where POPIA or other applicable law requires specific consent for particular types of processing, such consent will be obtained separately where appropriate.
